i just found out the i was missing this mime type after i tried to open a .ogv video capture i got from the application gtk-recordmydesktop.
"ogv" is mapped to video/ogg in v3.43.
i use kde, so i added it locally and my issue was solved but maybe we should see if their is upstream to mime-support which could add all ogg mime types. i guess some more mime types are missing from the /etc/mime.types file... see : http://wiki.xiph.org/index.php/MIME_Types_and_File_Extensions
