Package: gstreamer0.10-alsa Version: 0.10.19-2 Severity: normal File: /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstalsa.so
My laptop has three tracks called "Input Source" and three called "Capture". Gstreamer provides no way to tell the difference between them, which makes the use of gnome-volume-control nigh-on unusable for the case where the user wants to record sounds. I sent two patches upstream a couple of months ago, but have not heard anything from the developers yet. In light of the imminent lenny freeze, I request that they be included in Debian's gstreamer packages. The patches are fairly simple, and merely apply the same technique already used for the untranslated label of volume-control mixer tracks to the translated labels for volume-control mixer tracks and both the untranslated and translated for option mixer tracks. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (530, 'testing'), (520, 'unstable'), (510, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.25-2-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages gstreamer0.10-alsa depends on: ii libasound2 1.0.16-2 ALSA library ii libc6 2.7-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libglib2.0-0 2.16.3-2 The GLib library of C routines ii libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10 0.10.19-2 GStreamer libraries from the "base ii libgstreamer0.10-0 0.10.19-3 Core GStreamer libraries and eleme gstreamer0.10-alsa recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
