I have the latest version out of the unstable branch on powerpc (0.8.2-2 +b1) and youtube is still broken. Interestingly, the plugin player for totem works fine. I just get a white box where the video should be through iceweasel. I am using Gnome, so maybe the gnomevfs problem hinted at elsewhere is the key? I have all the gstreamer plugins there, I'm fairly certain, using the bad, rather than the 'really bad' set.
