When I'm in a hurry and doing two things at a time (which is normal), I sometimes forget whether I'm done the final scan or just acquired the preview. This is only a problem if you are saving directly (the viewer gives a good clue!), but that's what I do most of the time. I'd be really happy if there were some little graphical hint that would tell me whether or not the scan button has been clicked since the "acquire preview" button was last clicked. I'd suggest subtle changes in the color or font for the "scan" button. Perhaps have the text go bold when the preview is acquired, and then switch to roman when the scan button is pressed. (And, yes, one might be able to tell if the filename ends in a number (beccause it is incremented). But, not all file names end in numbers. Also, the assumption that the user can remember whether they last scanned sunset006.jpg or sunset007.jpg is probably unjustified.) -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-2-686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages xsane depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 1.8.0-4 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgimp2.0 2.2.6-1 Libraries necessary to run the GIM ii libglib2.0-0 2.6.4-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.6.4-1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libieee1284-3 0.2.10-1 cross-platform library for paralle ii libjpeg62 6b-10 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libpango1.0-0 1.8.1-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpng12-0 1.2.8rel-1 PNG library - runtime ii libsane 1.0.15-9 API library for scanners ii libtiff4 3.7.2-3 Tag Image File Format (TIFF) libra ii libusb-0.1-4 2:0.1.10a-9 userspace USB programming library ii xsane-common 0.97-3 GTK+-based X11 frontend for SANE ( ii zlib1g 1:1.2.2-4 compression library - runtime -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
