Package: pulseaudio Version: 0.9.10-2 Severity: wishlist Tags: patch Hi,
as reported here [http://www.pulseaudio.org/ticket/114], pulseaudio wakes up the audio hardware a lot, even when idle, which prevents the CPU from entering C3/C4 state, thus killing battery life. The module module-suspend-on-idle solves the problem (at least when no sound is played). Please, could you add: load-module module-suspend-on-idle to /etc/pulse/default.pa. If you don't want to enable it by default, I strongly suggest that you add it (commented out) with an explicit comment stating that it can save a lot of battery life.
