Package: network-manager-gnome Version: 0.6.6-2 Severity: normal File: /usr/bin/nm-editor
In nm-editor, if I rename a network to something including a non-ascii character, the network is then deleted from the list, with the following error message appearing: ------------------- An error occurred while loading or saving configuration information for nm-editor. Some of your configuration settings may not work properly. Bad key or directory name: "/system/networking/wireless/networks/tæst/essid": '\303' is not an ASCII character and thus isn't allowed in key names Bad key or directory name: "/system/networking/wireless/networks/tæst/timestamp": '\303' is not an ASCII character and thus isn't allowed in key names Bad key or directory name: "/system/networking/wireless/networks/tæst/we_cipher": '\303' is not an ASCII character and thus isn't allowed in key names Bad key or directory name: "/system/networking/wireless/networks/tæst/wpa_psk_wpa_version": '\303' is not an ASCII character and thus isn't allowed in key names Bad key or directory name: "/system/networking/wireless/networks/tæst/wpa_psk_key_mgt": '\303' is not an ASCII character and thus isn't allowed in key names ------------------- On the console, the following is printed: ------------------- (nm-editor:4972): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_entry_set_text: assertion `text != NULL' failed ** (nm-editor:4972): CRITICAL **: real_get_key: assertion `essid != NULL' failed ------------------- I don't know if non-ASCII characters are not supposed to be used at all, or if it should be possible, but isn't. Either way, it'd be nice if nm-editor didn't lose my settings if I tried. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.25-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=da_DK.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=da_DK.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages network-manager-gnome depends on: ii libc6 2.7-12 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.1-2 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.76-1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libgconf2-4 2.22.0-1 GNOME configuration database syste ii libglade2-0 1:2.6.2-1 library to load .glade files at ru ii libglib2.0-0 2.16.3-2 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome-keyring0 2.22.2-1 GNOME keyring services library ii libgnome2-0 2.20.1.1-1 The GNOME 2 library - runtime file ii libgnomeui-0 2.20.1.1-1 The GNOME 2 libraries (User Interf ii libgtk2.0-0 2.12.10-2 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libnm-util0 0.6.6-1 network management framework (shar ii libnotify1 [libnotify1-gtk2.1 0.4.4-3 sends desktop notifications to a n ii libpango1.0-0 1.20.2-2 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libx11-6 2:1.0.3-7 X11 client-side library ii network-manager 0.6.6-1 network management framework daemo Versions of packages network-manager-gnome recommends: ii libpam-gnome-keyring [libpam- 2.22.2-1 PAM module to unlock the GNOME key pn network-manager-openvpn-gnome <none> (no description available) pn network-manager-vpnc-gnome <none> (no description available) ii notification-daemon 0.3.7-1+b1 a daemon that displays passive pop -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
