Maybe This is a misunderstanding on my part menu-xdg creates xdg entries for the debian menu to be displayed by freedesktop.org desktops, but it doesn't add root menu entries. <sigh> This situation sucks. I think the debian menu should be the root menu since it is the canonical location to find things. This debian menu as second fiddle so one is lead to expect to find everything through a root menu that is not in fact policy is frustrating. For myself it is easy enough to modify the xfce menu to use the debian menu as the root menu, but for other users, especially newbies that's not an option and they will assume something not in the root menu isn't on the system, because they won't know to look in the debian menu when the non-canonical root menu doesn't have the application they're looking for. Okay, I'm going to stop going on about this, but it irks me. A lot. -- And that's my crabbing done for the day. Got it out of the way early, now I have the rest of the afternoon to sniff fragrant tea-roses or strangle cute bunnies or something. -- Michael Devore GnuPG Key Fingerprint 86 F5 81 A5 D4 2E 1F 1C http://gnupg.org No more sea shells: Daniel's Weblog http://cshore.wordpress.com
