Good idea, and I am going to do this.  But it only partly solve the
problem.  I still get log entries like this

  Jun  7 00:45:02 localhost nslcd[13419]: [8b4567] connected to LDAP server 
ldap://adserver/

This is still just noise, as the reconnecting went fine.  I like the
fact that it is only one log message, and not several, but still I
would rather only see a message if it is unable to reconnect, not
every time it is able to connect.
