Package: bitlbee Version: 1.2-4 Severity: wishlist In the &bitlbee channel, I get two kinds of messages: 1) interactions with the bitlbee daemon; and 2) messages from non-"buddy" users.
Because both kinds of messages claim to be from "root", this is very confusing. It's also impossible for me to use /ignore to ignore unwanted messages from idiots. Here is an example transcript: <root> jabber - New request: The user [EMAIL PROTECTED] wants to add you to his/her buddy list. <root> You can use the yes/no commands to accept/reject this request. <root> jabber - Message from unknown handle [EMAIL PROTECTED]: <root> You... you bloody basket! I want these unwanted messages to seem to come from different nicks, either - as private messages (as is done for "buddies"); - as other nicks in the &bitlbee channel; or - as other nicks in a secondary channel, say &unsolicited. In this way, I can use my standard IRC tools to prioritize (ignore) these unsolicitized messages. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.25-2-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_AU.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages bitlbee depends on: ii adduser 3.107 add and remove users and groups ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.22 Debian configuration management sy ii debianutils 2.28.4 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii libc6 2.7-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libevent1 1.3e-3 An asynchronous event notification ii libglib2.0-0 2.16.3-2 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnutls26 2.2.5-1 the GNU TLS library - runtime libr ii net-tools 1.60-19 The NET-3 networking toolkit bitlbee recommends no packages. -- debconf information: * bitlbee/serveport: 6667 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
