Package: rss2email Version: 1:2.62-2 Severity: normal The HTML to text conversion has some rather annoying problems with <blockquote> and tables.
<blockquote> text is rendered by adding "> " to the beginning of the paragraph but not any other line of the paragraph, which looks really bad. <blockquote> text that contains multiple paragraphs produces paragraphs in the text output of just ">" between each actual paragraph. A good way to render blockquoted text would be to append "> " to each line instead; an okay way would be to just indent it. As for tables, the HTML to text rendering apparently just gives up completely and every <td> value is rendered as a separate paragraph. This obviously looks horrible. The best rendering would require reading the entire table, calculating column width, and then producing the expected table, but even treating each column as having some pre-determined width would be better for most tables than the current rendering. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages rss2email depends on: ii python 2.5.2-1 An interactive high-level object-o ii python-feedparser 4.1-10 Universal Feed Parser for Python ii python-support 0.7.7 automated rebuilding support for P rss2email recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
