libfontconfig1 has to depend on fontconfig as that package (currently) contains all of the configuration information necessary for that library; I guess I'm unsure how to effect a change from this situation to one where all users of libfontconfig1 automatically gain a dependency on fontconfig without repackaging everything. There are 221 packages on my machine that depend on libfontconfig1... -keith
