Package: cacti Version: 0.8.6c-8 Severity: normal My graphs stopped updating about three weeks ago. I normally track the testing distribution so I guess this happened after an upgrade to whatever version hit testing around that time.
In the web interface I've set "Poller Logging Level" to "DEBUG" and now I get this every five minutes in the "View Cacti Log File" system utility: 05/27/2005 02:40:02 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] DEBUG: About to Spawn a Remote Process [CMD: /usr/bin/php, ARGS: -q /usr/share/cacti/site/cmd.php 0 35] 05/27/2005 02:39:58 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] Maximum runtime of 296 seconds exceeded. Exiting. 05/27/2005 02:35:01 PM - PHPSVR: Poller[0] ERROR: Input Expected, Script Server Terminating 05/27/2005 02:35:01 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] PHP Script Server Started Properly 05/27/2005 02:35:01 PM - PHPSVR: Poller[0] PHP Script Server has Started - Parent is cmd 05/27/2005 02:35:01 PM - PHPSVR: Poller[0] DEBUG: FILENM: /usr/share/cacti/site/script_server.php 05/27/2005 02:35:01 PM - PHPSVR: Poller[0] DEBUG: DIRNAM: /usr/share/cacti/site 05/27/2005 02:35:01 PM - PHPSVR: Poller[0] DEBUG: GETCWD: /var/www 05/27/2005 02:35:01 PM - PHPSVR: Poller[0] DEBUG: SERVER: cmd 05/27/2005 02:35:01 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] DEBUG: About to Spawn a Remote Process [CMD: /usr/bin/php, ARGS: -q /usr/share/cacti/site/cmd.php 0 35] It seems a bit strange that the poller doesn't stop after the PHPSVR error and continues until the maximum runtime is exceeded. But it looks like the real problem is the error itself. In /var/log/cacti/cacti.log I see the same as the above events (but in chronological order), but /var/log/cacti/poll.log is empty. So to get any further with this it looks like I'll have to delve into the PHP code. Unfortunately I don't have time for that right now. If and when I get any further I'll follow up on this bug....
