reassign 431966 initscripts thanks On Mon, May 26, 2008 at 02:15:13PM +0000, Debian Bug Tracking System wrote: > Processing commands for [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

CIFS mounts don't require any particular processes to be running in order to unmount - they just require the network to be reachable. A "Server not responding" message indicates to me that the current init script shutdown order is failing at this. The description of the umountnfs.sh init script certainly includes CIFS in its scope ("Unmount all network filesystems [...]"), so I don't see any reason that the maintainers of the smbfs package should be expected to do additional work here for what appears to very much be a general issue with the handling of network filesystems on shutdown. -- Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world.
