Package: mysql-server Version: 5.0.51a-5 Severity: minor After the latest mysql-server upgrade to 5.0.51a-5, root is getting odd (?) messages at every start or restart from the function check_for_crashed_tables() in debian-start.inc.sh
I can duplicate the messages by running this part of the script at the command line: /usr/bin/mysql --defaults-file=/etc/mysql/debian.cnf -N -b -e 'select concat("select count(*) from ",TABLE_SCHEMA,".", TABLE_NAME) from information_schema.TABLES where ENGINE="MyISAM"' | xargs -i /usr/bin/mysql --defaults-file=/etc/mysql/debian.cnf -N -q -e "{}" It appears to be just a list of select count(*) from mysql.various-tables It is unclear to me what these results have to do with crashed tables, whether they are harmless, and whether they should be turned off somehow. Sorry, but I am no expert on mysql-server. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.25.4 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages mysql-server depends on: ii mysql-server-5.0 5.0.51a-5 MySQL database server binaries mysql-server recommends no packages. -- debconf information: mysql-server/skip_networking: false mysql-server/really_downgrade_from_41: false mysql-server/want_chroot: false * mysql-server/start_on_boot: true mysql-server/postrm_remove_databases: false * mysql-server/mysql_install_db_notes: mysql-server/nis_warning: mysql-server/mysql_update_hints1: * mysql-server/postrm_remove_database: false mysql-server/fix_privileges_warning: -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
