I just added experimental support for it, this is in the experimental new widget toolkit which will be shipped with wesnoth-1.5.1. In order to see the feature you'll have to start wesnoth with wesnoth --new-widgets. Note this toolkit is _very_ experimental, please don't file bugs against it since it's not finished yet. But it is the intention that at some point in the future this toolkit will become the default.
