Package: gaim Version: 1:1.2.1-1.1 Severity: normal This is probably an upstream bug, but I'm reporting it here because there's a new upstream version and I want to stay on Sarge.
If for example I try to connect to IRC with nickname chealer and chealer is already in use, I'll connect as cheale1. Let's say gaim crashes twice in a row, chealer and cheale1 will be in use. If I try to connect as chealer then, signon will take a long time, then fail with Disconnected. ERROR:Closing Link: (Connection Timed Out) In this case, XChat would print Nickname already in use. Use /NICK to try another. There is no prompt or explanation for the failure in Gaim. [ 762962 ] Silent Crash during IRC Forced Nick-Change Dialog refers to a "IRC Forced Nick-Change Dialog". I have no idea what this is. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.11 Locale: LANG=fr_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages gaim depends on: ii gaim-data 1:1.2.1-1.1 multi-protocol instant messaging c ii libao2 0.8.6-1 Cross Platform Audio Output Librar ii libaspell15 0.60.2+20050121-2 The GNU Aspell spell-checker runti ii libatk1.0-0 1.8.0-4 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libaudiofile0 0.2.6-6 Open-source version of SGI's audio ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-21 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgcrypt11 1.2.0-11.1 LGPL Crypto library - runtime libr ii libglib2.0-0 2.6.4-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnutls11 1.0.16-9 GNU TLS library - runtime library ii libgtk2.0-0 2.6.4-1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libgtkspell0 2.0.10-1 a spell-checking addon for GTK's T ii libice6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12.0.1 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libpango1.0-0 1.8.1-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libsm6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12.0.1 X Window System Session Management ii libstartup-notificat 0.8-1 library for program launch feedbac ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12.0.1 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12.0.1 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
