Package: rubygems Version: 1.0.1-4 Severity: normal
"gem install foo" will happily overwrite /usr/bin/foo even if it was previously installed by libfoo-ruby. This makes it a fairly difficult situation to deal with for the maintainer of libfoo-ruby: reportbug will say "libfoo-ruby version x.y" is installed, even if the corresponding binary has been overwritten by a subsequent gem installation of foo. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.ISO-8859-15, LC_CTYPE=en_US.ISO-8859-15 (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages rubygems depends on: ii libgems-ruby1.8 1.0.1-4 libraries to use RubyGems, a packa ii ruby1.8 1.8.6.114-2 Interpreter of object-oriented scr rubygems recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
