Package: apt-cacher Version: 1.5.3 Severity: important This single, flat cache directory causes problems if you try to use apt-cacher for Ubuntu as well as Debian. For example, both Debian Etch and Ubuntu Gutsy ship a package called "xfonts-knickers". Both of them call the file xfonts-knickers_0.0.1-3.1_all.deb, but the files are NOT the same; etch's version is 9120 bytes and Ubuntu's is 9156 bytes. Downloading one distro's file overwrites the others and causes problems.
Ideally, apt-cacher will use different subdirectories for different releases. I realize this is tricky, if not impossible, but it would be nice. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-6-amd64 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) (ignored: LC_ALL set to C) Versions of packages apt-cacher depends on: ii bzip2 1.0.3-6 high-quality block-sorting file co ii libwww-perl 5.805-1 WWW client/server library for Perl ii perl 5.8.8-7etch3 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction apt-cacher recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
