Package: samba Version: 3.0.14a-1 Severity: important Since version 3.0.4-1 (3.0.2a-1 is ok) I do no longer see my printer share listed when I run `smbclient -L servername'. I can still connect to it, but I have to know there is a print share beforehand. I tried several options in smb.conf, but I could not get it right. Since a simple upgrade caused this behaviour, I consider it a bug. And since Sarge is shipping next week I consider it important. Maybe not...
I noticed this bug when upgradeing from 2.2.5-1 to 3.0.14a-1. Anyway, this is my swat-generated smb.conf: # Samba config file created using SWAT # from 192.168.20.20 (192.168.20.20) # Date: 2005/05/24 09:41:39 # Global parameters [global] workgroup = ILEOS printcap name = cups ldap ssl = no panic action = /usr/share/samba/panic-action %d printing = cups print command = lpq command = %p lprm command = [printers] comment = All Printers path = /tmp printable = Yes [homes] comment = Home Directories valid users = %S read only = No browseable = No -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.18-1-k7 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages samba depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.4.30.13 Debian configuration management sy ii libacl1 2.2.23-1 Access control list shared library ii libattr1 2.4.16-1 Extended attribute shared library ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-21 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libcomerr2 1.37-2 common error description library ii libcupsys2-gnutls10 1.1.23-10 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - ii libkrb53 1.3.6-2 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries ii libldap2 2.1.30-8 OpenLDAP libraries ii libpam-modules 0.76-22 Pluggable Authentication Modules f ii libpam-runtime 0.76-22 Runtime support for the PAM librar ii libpam0g 0.76-22 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libpopt0 1.7-5 lib for parsing cmdline parameters ii logrotate 3.7-3 Log rotation utility ii netbase 4.21 Basic TCP/IP networking system ii samba-common 3.0.14a-1 Samba common files used by both th -- debconf information: samba/nmbd_from_inetd: * samba/run_mode: daemons * samba/log_files_moved: samba/tdbsam: false * samba/generate_smbpasswd: true -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
