this is a retarded workaround, but i

mv'd the offending "libhx509.so.3" to "libhx509.so.3.OFF"

then ln'd the (assumingly related and/or similar) "libhx509.so.1" to
"libhx509.so.3" and cyrus was happy to start after that!!

this (probably) only works because i'm not using kerberos(?) and/or x509
things..

I apologize for my amatuerism.. but i figure too much info is better
than not enough.
