Package: inn2 Version: 2.4.4-1 Severity: normal
Unstable has upgraded from perl 5.8.8 to 5.10.0 so inn2 no longer installs. I compiled inn2 from source and it compiled and installed OK, but it doesn't work. innd seems to start but immediately stops again and there's nothing in the logs to indicate why. news.notice just contains this: May 3 21:53:18 tiber innd: SERVER descriptors 1024 May 3 21:53:18 tiber innd: SERVER outgoing 1011 May 3 21:53:18 tiber innd: SERVER ccsetup control:15 May 3 21:53:18 tiber innd: SERVER lcsetup localconn:17 May 3 21:53:18 tiber innd: SERVER rcsetup remconn:4 May 3 21:53:18 tiber innd: controlchan! spawned controlchan!:20:proc:7464 May 3 21:53:18 tiber innd: news.enta.net opened news.enta.net:19:file May 3 21:53:18 tiber controlchan[7464]: starting I also tried setting the status option to 1 in inn.conf, but it hasn't created an inn_status.html file. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24.4 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages inn2 depends on: ii cron 3.0pl1-104 management of regular background p ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.21 Debian configuration management sy ii exim4-daemon-light [mai 4.69-5+b1 lightweight Exim MTA (v4) daemon ii inn2-inews 2.4.3+20070806-1 NNTP client news injector, from In ii libc6 2.7-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdb4.4 4.4.20-11 Berkeley v4.4 Database Libraries [ ii libpam0g 0.99.7.1-6 Pluggable Authentication Modules l pn libperl5.8 <none> (no description available) ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8g-8 SSL shared libraries ii perl 5.10.0-9 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction pn perlapi-5.8.8 <none> (no description available) ii procps 1:3.2.7-8 /proc file system utilities ii time 1.7-21 The GNU time program for measuring inn2 recommends no packages. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
