I could reproduce this bug, so I forwarded it upstream: https://mail.enthought.com/pipermail/enthought-dev/2008-April/014270.html But, it seems there is no easy fix for this bug, and upstream is planning to remove this example. So, mostly it will be removed from the Debian package also in the next version.
