Package: libuuid1 Version: 1.40.8-2 Severity: normal Hi,
from my understanding, the libuuid user is only needed by the uuidd runtime program shipped in the uuid-runtime package. As libuuid1 is effectively essential, while uuid-runtime is only a recommendation of it, the creation of the libuuid user should be moved to the runtime package in order not to force the user into the passwd of people not having the runtime package installed. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny APT prefers testing APT policy: (700, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable'), (50, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.utf8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages libuuid1 depends on: ii libc6 2.7-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii passwd 1:4.1.1-1 change and administer password and Versions of packages libuuid1 recommends: ii uuid-runtime 1.40.8-2 universally unique id library -- no debconf information Christoph -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] | http://www.df7cb.de/
