Package: nfs-common Version: 1:1.1.2-3 Severity: important Hi,
see subject: mount.nfs checks if the mountpoint has the the executable bit set, and fails if it has not (with a bogus error message "mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting (null)"). I'm filing this as important, because it's a regression from Etch and breaks entirely valid setups. And a setup with permission bits all zero for a mountpoint is not that obscure at all, because it's a handy trick to avoid accidentally using the mountpoint directory when the filesystem is not mounted. I've checked upstream and this check was introduced in commit 3b55934b9baefecee17aefc3ea139e261a4b03b8, which seems to map to upstream release v1.1.1. Etch has v1.0.10 and is thus not affected.
