> Basically, there's no clean way to do it. maybe this is more of a problem with those specific applications i mentioned (totem and sol)? other applications like iceweasel, thunar, and lastfm seem to be able to recover their non-maximized size after being closed (while maximized) and reopened. is it the responsibility of the window manager or the application to recover its window sizes correctly?
