Having a debian directory in orig tarballs might have some issues, granted. If upstream uses that directory as a source directory, if upstream puts unneeded files that you won't be able to delete, if the compilation process mangles the files in the debian directory and so. Having a watch file in the original tarball won't raise any issues, and it's quite common to find packages with an original tarball that includes a non problematic debian directory. So, given you are trying to check all packages, make sure you are submitting useful information, make sure you package checker works in all cases, or avoid submitting the bugs without checking that it's not a bug on your side. -- "There are two major products that come out of Berkeley: LSD and BSD.
