Sorry for my delay in responding. I think there must be something wrong with your manual page database; the point where the strace stops is right at the point where mandb tries to store an entry in the database. Could I get a copy of /var/cache/man/index.db, please? Per #180341, how much disk space is free in /var/cache/man?
