Package: libnss-ldap Version: 238-1 Severity: minor Hello,
I'm using libpam_ldap and libnss_ldap for authentification. Everything works fine, except that sometimes I have strange messages in my syslog : May 23 15:02:01 localhost ate1 [local] authentication: nss_ldap: reconnecting to LDAP server... May 23 15:02:01 localhost ate1 [local] authentication: nss_ldap: reconnected to LDAP server after 1 attempt(s) May 23 15:02:01 localhost ate1 [local] authentication: nss_ldap: reconnecting to LDAP server... May 23 15:02:01 localhost ate1 [local] authentication: nss_ldap: reconnected to LDAP server after 1 attempt(s) May 23 15:02:01 localhost local] authentication: nss_ldap: reconnecting to LDAP server... May 23 15:02:01 localhost local] authentication: nss_ldap: reconnected to LDAP server after 1 attempt(s) May 23 15:02:15 localhost est [local] authentication: nss_ldap: reconnecting to LDAP server... May 23 15:02:15 localhost est [local] authentication: nss_ldap: reconnected to LDAP server after 1 attempt(s) May 23 15:02:19 localhost rtal [local] authentication: nss_ldap: reconnecting to LDAP server... May 23 15:02:19 localhost rtal [local] authentication: nss_ldap: reconnected to LDAP server after 1 attempt(s) May 23 15:02:21 localhost rtal_test [local] authentication: nss_ldap: reconnecting to LDAP server... May 23 15:02:21 localhost rtal_test [local] authentication: nss_ldap: reconnected to LDAP server after 1 attempt(s) May 23 15:02:24 localhost [local] authentication: nss_ldap: reconnecting to LDAP server... May 23 15:02:24 localhost [local] authentication: nss_ldap: reconnected to LDAP server after 1 attempt(s) May 23 15:02:26 localhost local] authentication: nss_ldap: reconnecting to LDAP server... May 23 15:02:26 localhost local] authentication: nss_ldap: reconnected to LDAP server after 1 attempt(s) .... What is strange is not the message himself (reconnection is a normal operation), but the services (local], est [local], rtal [local], ...). I don't know if it's a bug or not, it's the first time I see thoses strange services name .. and google returns no results .... One more thing, I don't use the name service cache daemon (nscd).
