I just noticed that if I remove the link tags, the parsing error disappears. Also, if I remove all the link tags referring to stylesheets (including alternate stylesheets), the error disappears. If I leave even one link tag referring to stylesheets, the error still occurs. Howver, if I specify a full URI on the stylesheets, the error also disappears.
It looks like the parser considers the unavailablity of stylesheets a fatal parsing error, which it isn't. I also cannot fully qualify the URIs because Safari does not accept URIs for stylesheets that refer to HTTPS when the site is HTTP, and Firefox provides a warning (via an icon in the location bar) for stylesheets that refer to HTTP when the site is HTTPS. -- brian m. carlson / brian with sandals: Houston, Texas, US +1 713 440 7475 | http://crustytoothpaste.ath.cx/~bmc | My opinion only troff on top of XML: http://crustytoothpaste.ath.cx/~bmc/code/thwack OpenPGP: RSA v4 4096b 88AC E9B2 9196 305B A994 7552 F1BA 225C 0223 B187
