Package: pcsc-omnikey Version: 1:2-3 Severity: important This omnikey driver package is used for a wide range of omnikey readers, e.g. RFID USB 5121 and Chery XX4400 card reader.
If there is no Cardman 4040 reader connected, the package disables pcscd. The reason is the file pcsc-omnikey ------------------------------------------------------- # Configuration file for CardMan 4040 smartcard reader. FRIENDLYNAME "OMNIKEY CardMan 4040 Socket 0" DEVICENAME /dev/cmx0 LIBPATH /usr/lib/pcsc/drivers/ifdok_cm4040.so CHANNELID 0 ------------------------------------------------------- which is installed in /etc/reader.conf.d and is appended to /etc/reader.conf by update-reader.conf during the installation or later by the user. But if the user have not connected a 4040 cardman reader, this ends up in an error by pcscd: $ pcscd -d -f ... 00000000 pcscdaemon.c:275:main() pcscd set to foreground with debug send to stderr 00000073 debuglog.c:239:DebugLogSetLevel() debug level=debug 00000952 configfile.l:119:evaluatetoken() Error with device /dev/cmx0: No such file or directory 00000020 configfile.l:120:evaluatetoken() You should use 'DEVICENAME /dev/null' if your driver does not use this field A solution may be copying the pcsc-omnikey reader config file in the share folder of the package and let the user copy it to /etc/reader.conf.d if he use a CardMan 4040 reader. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (300, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages pcsc-omnikey depends on: ii libc6 2.7-5 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libpcsclite1 1.4.100-3 Middleware to access a smart card ii libusb-0.1-4 2:0.1.12-10 userspace USB programming library ii pcscd 1.4.100-3 Middleware to access a smart card ii udev 0.114-2 /dev/ and hotplug management daemo -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
