Please, remove dependency on fam, following bug http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=252896 makes it unusable. It is also hard to fix on user side, because user can not stop fam without becoming superuser. On my machine fam starts to consume 100% CPU each and every time I mount my flash drive. It also prevents umounting cdroms and flashdrives. Nautilus works perfectly without fam. Probably fam will work again after including inotify support.
