Package: grub-pc Version: 1.96+20080228-1 Severity: wishlist Before grub2, you could set the root device to "LABEL=root" in menu.lst. This might be necessary if, say, you switch to/from kernels that use libata for PATA controllers. A kernel with libata would name the first PATA disk "sda", whereas previous kernels would name it "hda".
It would be great if there was an option to make 10_linux use filesystem labels instead of the device name.
