There's a transitional package, of course. $ dpkg -s xbase-clients Package: xbase-clients Version: 1:7.3+10 Depends: x11-apps, x11-session-utils, x11-utils, x11-xfs-utils, x11-xkb-utils, x11-xserver-utils, xauth, xinit Just look at the above packages descriptions to find out which programs they contain.
