Eh, this was originally sent to the wrong bug...which was closed, thankfully..:-)
So, again: Since this bug was reported, update-inetd was adapted to give correct clues to xinetd users while, in the same time, xinetd properly uses inetd.conf entries.... As a consequence, I don't think it's worth keeping that bug opened. Any improvement to this mechanism belongs to the update-inetd package, not the samba package.
