Just FYI: I still have that problem. If I plug in my camera and start digikam (so that the kio_kamera processes start) *without* first doing chown/chmod on /dev/bus/usb/*/* I cannot get my pictures.
What's interesting is that the camera seems to feel changes; when I start/quit digikam (without touching the kio_* plugins), the light on the camera blinks. # dpkg-query -l digikam ... ii digikam 2:0.9.3-2 digital photo management application for KDE # cat /proc/version Linux version 2.6.24-1-amd64 (Debian 2.6.24-5) ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 4.1.3 20080308 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.2-21)) #1 SMP Thu Mar 27 16:52:38 UTC 2008 -- Versioning your /etc, /home or even your whole installation?
