Looks like jd package has recently added a bunch of compiler
options to debian/rules. Not all cflags work on all architectures..
Please use hardening-wrapper package for setting these options
in more portable manner.

Config.log:

configure:2901: checking for C compiler default output file name
configure:2928: arm-linux-gnueabi-gcc -Wall -Wformat -Wformat-security
-g -fstack-protector-all -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fPIE -pie -Wl,-z,relro -O2
-Wl,-z,defs conftest.c >&5
configure:2931: $? = 0
configure:2969: result: a.out
configure:2986: checking whether the C compiler works
configure:2996: ./a.out
./configure: line 2997: 5127 Segmentation fault ./$ac_file
configure:2999: $? = 139
configure:3008: error: cannot run C compiled programs.

-fstack-protector-all and -fPIE / -pie options do not work on arm(el)
