Package: email-reminder Version: 0.7.2-3 Severity: normal
Hi, every day cron sends me an e-mail with this error message: /etc/cron.daily/email-reminder: Error: home directory for uid 129 contains invalid characters at /usr/sbin/collect-reminders line 144. Here is the passwd entry for user UID: $ grep 129 /etc/passwd firebird:x:129:131:Firebird Database Administator,,,:/var/lib/firebird/1.5:/bin/bash I see several ways to fix this: - email-reminder could only process non system users (that is UID larger than 1000) I do not know if dots are allowed in username and/or homedirs so: - either email-reminder regexp could be extended to allow dots - or firebird could be fixed to remove the dot in its homedir (and this bug should be reassigned) -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US.UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages email-reminder depends on: ii adduser 3.107 add and remove users and groups ii cron 3.0pl1-104 management of regular background p ii debconf 1.5.20 Debian configuration management sy ii libdate-manip-perl 5.48-3 a perl library for manipulating da ii libemail-valid-perl 0.179-2 Check validity of Internet email a ii libgtk2-perl 1:1.181-1 Perl interface to the 2.x series o ii libxml-dom-perl 1.44-1 Perl module for building DOM Level ii perl 5.8.8-12 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction Versions of packages email-reminder recommends: ii anacron 2.3-13.1 cron-like program that doesn't go ii libauthen-sasl-perl 2.10-1.1 Authen::SASL - SASL Authentication ii libemail-mime-encodings-perl 1.311-3 A unified interface to MIME encodi ii nullmailer [mail-transport-ag 1:1.04-1 simple relay-only mail transport a -- debconf information excluded -- Laurent Bonnaud. http://www.lis.inpg.fr/pages_perso/bonnaud/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
