I removed the symlinks after EVERY update!

Have you ever looked into /var/lib/dpkg/info/cupsys.postinst?

If /etc/init.d/cupsys is executable update-rc.d is run
and the cupsd is started.

Is it appropriate to remove the x bit of /etc/init.d/cupsys?

Thanks

Markus
