Package: grub
Followup-For: Bug #451701

Hi,
I was just bitten by the aforementioned bug.
The machine where I saw the problem appear ran a 2.6.18 kernel with very old
grub stage files (timestamp showed something like March 2003).
I updated to a 2.6.24 kernel ('cause of the vmsplice problem), rebooted, and
couldn't see a thing because the machine is actually my gateway at home,
with no screen attached.
Making a grub-install with the grub version from Lenny solved the bug.

But the conditions in which I discovered the problem make me suggest to add
to the installation scripts of kernels >=2.6.23 a warning (mine was built
with kernel-package and linux-source-2.6.24)

Oh well, no rebooting-remotely-with-a-new-kernel-and-fingers-crossed for me
today :-D
