(Where did you get that information, out of curiosity?  I didn't see
it on upstream's website anywhere, or in the mailing list archives,
but maybe I wasn't searching very well.)

No hurry; I didn't originally know it had been fixed upstream until I
did the secondary research, that's all.  If it takes them a long time
to release a fix, then it might be nice to have an intermediary
package, but I can always do local patches on my own, too, so it's not
a big deal.
