Well, 2.x in Debian doesn't even run. I have installed the package
from unstable and it crashed on startup. That's RC-bugginess of
coarsest kind. Moreover, I am the upstream maintainer and I *know* the
application is broken in many respects that are hard to fix. I don't
have time to support such a broken program, sorry. Moreover, every bit
of time I spend on Adept 2.x is a bit of time I cannot spend on Adept
3 -- as you can see, I am fairly busy and I already had to drop the
release target of 3.0 in april, (probably postponing it to september).

As for other distributions, that's their call -- they maybe have time
for support that I do not posses.
