fusion-icon is a running program that eats ~17MB of RAM (at least on my system); yes, it is good looking, but its functionalities do not worth the resources waste, IMHO. compiz-switch is a simple shell script: you put a launcher on your desktop or your panel and execute it when you need to switch your WM... No RAM, no CPU wasted. A simple thing to do a simple task: ever the best idea...
