I believe that this problem is related to the issue discussed in the following upstream bug report:
http://www.cups.org/str.php?L2537 It might also be worth to notice the following entry from /usr/share/doc/cupsys/changelog.gz: CHANGES IN CUPS V1.3.4 [...] - The scheduler did not reject requests with charsets other than US-ASCII or UTF-8, and the CUPS API incorrectly passed the locale charset to the scheduler instead of UTF-8 (STR #2537) As far as I understand, this is considered a bug in the client, which seems to be fixed in 1.3.4 and later. So it seems a bit unlikely that this problem could be dealt with for the version of cupsys in etch. However, one way to work around the problem (apart from upgrading), that at least worked for me, is to run the client in a UTF-8 locale. Though of course, this might not always be viable. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
