Please add include_dir=/etc/nagios/nrpe.d/ to /etc/nagios/nrpe.cfg, then add that as an empty dir to the package. This way, other packages can drop files there to extend the config.
At work, we have a package that is installed on all our machines, and I'd like to easily add additional standard commands to nrpe.
