Were you able to solve this error?I am having the same error on my machine (using xpdf 3.02 on Mac leopard). The parsing is done correctly, but the terminal always first gives this stupid error.
I already set the paperformat in the xpdfrc file to A4 in stead of letter, but this doesn't solve the problem.
