Just FYI:
These bugs are caused by #473874 and #474065 in apt. I've written
patches to fix the underlying problems in apt, and once they're accepted
by the apt developers I'll close these bugs on aptitude.
I would merge these with the actual bugs, but there are really two
separate apt problems and I can't merge with both! The closest thing [0]
is to declare those as blockers, which I'll do (but in reality these bugs
will be fixed as soon as both apt bugs are closed).

[0] I guess the other option is to clone each of these and merge one
copy with each of the apt bugs, but that seems even more baroque,
plus it'll lead to duplicate bugs on aptitude.
