Hi,

22:24 [EMAIL PROTECTED] /usr/share/applications % desktop-file-validate
mplayer.desktop
mplayer.desktop: warning: key "Encoding" in group "Desktop Entry" is
deprecated
mplayer.desktop: warning: value "mplayer.xpm" for key "Icon" in group
"Desktop Entry" is an icon name with an extension, but there should be
no extension as described in the Icon Theme Specification if the value
is not an absolute path

It's not an obligation...it is just a freedesktop spec.

Guillaume
