Hi Xavier, Do you know if the current version of HAL still has this problem? I suspect it doesn't because for quite some time now, when ejecting a USB disk in Nautilus, there has been a pop-up saying "don't remove the device yet, it's not safe!" that goes away once data has been flushed to the device.
