"view-lossage" (which can be used from within Emacs) proves that C-g isn't even detected when it has been typed on the keyboard. So, if for instance, one is using the newsreader Gnus (from within Emacs) on a virtual text console, one is no longer able to abort the downloading of let's say 40 000 articles, since C-g is no longer functional! I launch Emacs like this: filterm - dynafont emacs -nw --eval "(set-keyboard-coding-system 'latin-9)" This permits me to type the special German characters äöüß as well as the Euro sign (€) while at the same type allowing me to have other people's utf-8 postings correctly displayed and also allowing me to reply to them (from within Gnus) without my replies getting distorted (as to the characters transmitted/displayed). The above mentioned loss of functionality of C-g does NOT happen without using filterm - dynafont! The problems seem to be independent of the "dynafont" filter itself, but are due to konwert (or konwert-filters), in version 1.8.9. My downgrading to version 1.8.3 of konwert and of konwert-filters got rid of the bug. Hope, someone can confirm the bug and, most important of all, fix it.
