Package: emacs22 Version: 22.1+1-3 Severity: wishlist The documentation of show-paren-mode (both the info doc and the "interactive" one) do give some name of customization variables, but the variable blink-matching-paren-distance is not mentioned there nor any of its siblings (blink-matching-paren*). But this variable (as probably the other similar ones) influences the behaviour of show-paren-mode.
This can be misleading to a simple user, even if (s)he knows the existence of the blink-matching-paren* variables whose names are not much related to show-paren-mode. In a case I encountered I was thinking that a syntax problem (either in the file or in the emacs implementation) was making a paren appear as unmatched whereas the matching one was simply too far away.
